Dear reader,

If you have been following the news of late, you would have heard that right-wing barf-brained imbeciles with political backing (ram sena, bajrang dal, other nitwits) have decided that the cultural integrity of the glorious nation India must be exhibited by beating up helpless women outside pubs. And in other similarly stupid and childish aggressions against the constitution of the country and the people it is supposed to protect.

Obviously you cant expect the ruling right wing party in Karnataka to oppose them outright so the best they have come up with is “if they take the law into their own hands, we will let let loose the real law on them”. So the democratically elected government of Karnataka thinks beating up women is “taking the law into their own hands” and that makes the saffron wearing terrorists nationalists, just with too much zeal.

Fortunately the people are aware that the farce of democracy must continue to please the powers be and are increasingly taking things into their own hands, though not in the unlawful way.

The PINK CHADDI campaign is a brilliantly innovative Idea along the lines of Gandhij”s Satyagraha, only, hilarious.

Quoting From their Site

Step 1: It does not matter that many of us have not thought about Valentine’s Day since we were 13. If ever. This year let us send the Sri Ram Sena some love. Let us send them some PINK CHADDIS.

Look in your closet or buy them cheap. Dirt-cheap. Make sure they are PINK. Send them off to the Sena.

The address to send the package is:
The Pink Chaddi Campaign,
C/O Alternate Law Forum,
122/4 Infantry Road
(opposite Infantry Wedding House)
Bangalore 560001
Karnataka
Contact person:

Nithin (9886081269)
Nisha ( 9811893733)
Vivek(9845591798)
Ratna (09899422513)

Over Four Thousand people have so far joined this plan (me too, am going chaddi shopping soon).

So what if democracy is a sham, peoples voices will still be heard, and thankfully the educated indian seems to have woken up from its Kumbhakarnesq slumber.

Join and show some (pink chaddi) love

Ciao
